If I stay sober, I will be at peace

As I was driving home from work today and started to worry about what the future may bring, a feeling of serenity washed over me as I thought, “If I stay sober, I will be at peace.”

Nothing else matters. I am 100% confident that if I stay sober, I will find great peace and serenity.

Having a program in recovery has reorganized my priorities and I know now what matters most in life. Not money. Not fame. Not power.

Serenity. Peace. Love. That is what matters.

In a weird way I can’t quite explain, the pressure is off now.

That is the gift of my recovery.
